Surefire Tax & Accounting LLC ("Surefire," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit www.surefiretaxco.com (the "Site"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
This policy covers information collected through our Site. It does not cover information you provide to us directly as part of an engagement for tax, accounting, or advisory services, which is governed by your client engagement agreement and applicable professional confidentiality obligations.
Information We Collect
Information you provide to us. When you subscribe to our newsletter, request resources, or otherwise opt in, we collect the information you submit, which is typically your email address and, in some cases, your name. We collect this only with your consent through forms powered by Kit (formerly ConvertKit).
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies, including:
- Your IP address and approximate geographic location
- Browser type, device type, and operating system
- Pages viewed, time spent on pages, and referring URLs
- Date and time of your visit and other usage data

Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site and to understand visitor behavior. Cookies are small data files stored on your device.
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure and analyze Site traffic. GA4 uses cookies to collect usage data, which Google processes on our behalf. This data helps us understand which content is useful and how to improve the Site. Information collected by GA4 may be transmitted to and stored by Google.

Email Communications
If you opt in, we use Kit to manage our email list and send communications. We will only email you if you have given consent by submitting your address through one of our forms. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. You can also contact us directly to be removed from our list.
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers. We share information with third parties that perform services for us, including Google (analytics) and Kit (email management). These providers are authorized to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Surefire, our clients, or others.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, to comply with our legal obligations, and to resolve disputes. Email subscriber information is retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Analytics data is retained according to the retention settings configured in GA4.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Opt out of marketing communications

- Right to correct inaccurate personal information
- Right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell your personal information.

Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" above. Material changes will be posted on this page. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
